The move, in brief

Los Angeles to the Inland Empire is the classic upgrade move — an apartment in Koreatown or the Valley traded for a two-story with a three-car garage in Corona, Eastvale, Rancho Cucamonga, or Temecula. It bills hourly like a local job: one crew, one truck, and a drive east on the 10, the 60, or the 210 that takes an hour when it is clear and two when it is not.

The thing to plan for is that the two ends are different sizes. The LA end is usually about parking and a freight elevator; the IE end is usually about gate codes, move-in windows, long driveways, and summer afternoons that start in the nineties. We size the crew for the house you are moving into, not just the apartment you are leaving, and we start early enough to beat both the traffic and the heat.

How this move runs, step by step

Before

Your quote

Give us both addresses, the stairs at each, and the rooms, and we set the crew size and the hourly rate — from $139 per hour with a three-hour minimum. If the new house has an HOA, send the move-in rules now so the arrival window is confirmed before the day.

Move day · Los Angeles

Load

The crew arrives in your window, with the truck positioned where we planned and the elevator or curb already reserved. Furniture is wrapped, boxes loaded in unload order, and we are on the freeway before the eastbound crawl builds.

Move day · Inland Empire

Drive and unload

Out the 10 or the 60, through the gate with the code already in hand, and into a driveway that finally fits the truck. We carry, place, and reassemble, then walk the house with you. The clock stops when the last piece is down.

Origin

Los Angeles County

Apartment out, house in

Most LA to IE moves leave a smaller place than they arrive at, which is good news: the load side is the compact side. We still reserve the curb, book the freight elevator where the building requires it, and protect the hallways, because hourly billing rewards a quick load.

DESTINATION

Arriving in Inland Empire

New streets, gate codes, and HOA windows

Eastvale, Menifee, and the master-planned parts of Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario run moves by the community handbook: vendor forms, set hours, and gates that need a code or a guard call-ahead. We collect all of it at quote time so the truck is not idling at a keypad.

The eastbound clock

The 10 and the 60 east jam from mid-afternoon through the evening. We schedule LA pickups early so the truck is past the 605 before the crawl starts; an hour saved on the freeway is an hour off the bill.

Heat and timing

From June into September the Inland Empire afternoons run triple digits. We start early, keep electronics and finishes out of a hot truck for as little time as possible, and pace the unload so the crew finishes strong instead of wilting.

Things that live in LA garages

Peloton bikes, patio sets, surfboards, and the safe nobody mentions until the crew is there. Put them on the inventory when you quote and we bring the equipment and the extra set of hands that heavy items over 250 pounds need.

Long carries and big garages

A three-car garage and a forty-foot driveway sound convenient until the sectional has to travel the length of both. We plan the truck position and the carry path with the floor plan, and we bring dollies sized for the distance.

County-to-county moves load and deliver the same day on one truck, billed hourly from pickup to placement.

What this move costs

Los Angeles to Inland Empire moves bill hourly — from $139 per hour with a three-hour minimum — and the clock runs from arrival in LA to placement in Riverside or San Bernardino County, drive included. Home size sets the crew; the freeway hour and the access at both ends set the rest, and an early start keeps both down.

from $139/hr
3-hour minimum · billed from pickup to placement, drive included

Typical hourly ranges for local moves; the drive east can add an hour or two.

Home size Typical range Crew
Studio / 1-bedroom $450–$900 2 movers
2-bedroom $1,000–$1,500 3 movers
3-bedroom+ $1,500–$3,000+ larger crews

What moves the number:

  • Crew size — two movers for an apartment, three or more when the new house has a second floor to fill
  • The eastbound drive — one hour before noon, two after; we schedule to the first number
  • Access — LA elevators and curbs on one end, gates, driveways, and stair counts on the other
  • Packing — full or partial packing, or you pack and we load
  • Heavy and specialty items — gym equipment, safes, pianos, and patio sets that need more hands
  • Timing — month-end, weekends, and summer book first and can carry a surcharge

Hoisting · +$100 per item

I am so happy I went with 4US Moving! I moved from LA County out to the Palm Desert. Dau and his teammate were courteous, speedy, and professional. The amount of care they took prepping before loading my furniture and TVs surprised me. And they didn’t hesitate to go the extra mile when they unloaded into my new place. I highly recommend.

I needed movers from Orange County to San Diego and 4US Moving were fast to respond and had the best rates. Before booking, they answered all my questions to ensure I had everything I needed for my move. They were super fast and efficient, especially considering I moved out of a 3-story home. They took care of my items and wrapped/unwrapped everything for me. They’re also really prepared - had door stoppers and various packing supplies for a speedy move. They made moving less stressful and I definitely recommend them!

I scheduled 3 movers with a truck to move out my house from long beach to north hollywood and the guys. I called them and Dennis picked the phone, we went straight to business figuring out my move and he is such a cool guy actually! I appreciate his patience with me because I had a piano and a designer furniture piece that is really heavy even for 3 movers, but the guys did a great job handling it upstairs for me, Roman, the leader of my crew is the man! Glad I chose the right company, even though their quote was higher than other local movers but I got Dennis on the call and he explained to me the whole pricing structure as to why their quote appears higher while in reality it is because it's an all inclusive quote basically from the start and they include all packing supplies actually which I loved about this experience!

I moved from South Orange County to Los Angeles and needed help moving due to busy life schedule. This company provided exceptional service. It was easy to work with their team and they were efficient with their time. The rate was good in my opinion for the type of service you get. They ensured that all items were packed with care for transit. I would definitely recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to move from Los Angeles to the Inland Empire?

It bills hourly, from $139 per hour with a three-hour minimum, from pickup in LA to placement in Riverside or San Bernardino County with the drive included. Most moves land in the typical local ranges above, and an early start keeps the freeway hour from pushing the bill up.

Do you cover both Riverside and San Bernardino Counties?

Yes, all of both — Corona, Riverside, Temecula, and Murrieta on the Riverside side; Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Redlands, and up the Cajon Pass to Victorville on the San Bernardino side. Tell us the address and we plan the route and the access with the quote.

Can you move me from LA to the Inland Empire in one day?

Yes. Los Angeles to the Inland Empire is a one-truck, one-day move for almost every household. We load in the morning, drive east before the afternoon traffic, and unload the same day; larger homes simply get a bigger crew, not a second day.

What about gated communities and HOA move-in rules?

Send the community requirements, gate code, and move-in window with your quote. We confirm the arrival time against the window and file any vendor form in advance, so the truck goes straight through the gate.

Do you also move from the Inland Empire to Los Angeles?

All the time — the same hourly model in the other direction, whether you are heading for a downtown high-rise or a Valley apartment. Start a quote and tell us which way you are going.
