The move, in brief

Every year Los Angeles County sends households to Austin and Dallas, Nashville and Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, the Carolinas, and the Northeast. We load them from Santa Monica walk-ups, Pasadena houses, and Downtown towers, and we quote them the same way: one binding flat-rate price for the crew, the truck, the miles, and the delivery, with a choice between a dedicated truck on your schedule and a consolidated load at a lower rate.

A cross-country move is mostly a planning job. The loading day in LA is the part we control completely; the delivery depends on the option you choose, the access at the far end, and how accurately the inventory was built. That is why the quote starts with a video walkthrough or an on-site visit rather than a guess — the number you sign is the number you pay, and the load that leaves LA is the load that arrives.

How this move runs, step by step

Before

Your quote

We build an inventory by video walkthrough or on-site visit, confirm the destination access, and give you a binding flat-rate quote. You pick Straight Delivery for a dedicated truck and a scheduled date, or the Flex Option for a consolidated load at a lower rate, and we lock the loading date.

Day 1 · Los Angeles

Load day

The crew arrives in your window with the curb reserved or the dock booked. Every piece is padded and wrapped for two thousand miles of road, every box is logged against the inventory, and the truck is loaded so the weight rides safely and unloads in room order.

In transit

Across the country

Straight Delivery heads east directly on the I-10, I-40, or I-80 corridor and arrives on the scheduled date. The Flex Option travels consolidated with other shipments and delivers within a window of up to 21 business days — the trade that makes it the budget choice.

Delivery

The unload

We confirm the delivery window with you, and the crew carries, places, and reassembles at the other end, checking every item off the same inventory it left LA on. Stairs, elevators, and long carries at the destination were priced into your quote, not discovered on the day.

After

Storage if the timing slips

Closing dates move and leases do not always line up. We can hold your shipment in storage and deliver when the new home is ready, coordinated inside the same move.

Origin

Los Angeles County

Loading for two thousand miles

A long-haul load is wrapped and stacked differently from a local one: furniture padded on every face, boxes logged against an inventory, weight placed so nothing shifts on the Grapevine or the Rockies. The LA load day is the part of the move we control completely, so it is the part we take longest over.

DESTINATION

At the other end

Delivery windows and who meets the truck

Straight Delivery arrives on the scheduled date; the Flex Option arrives inside its window. Either way, you or someone you authorize needs to be there to receive the shipment, check the inventory, and show the crew where things go.

Curb, dock, and elevator

Street-parking a full-size truck in Koreatown, Hollywood, or Santa Monica means posting temporary no-parking signs ahead; Downtown and Westside towers need a certificate of insurance and a freight elevator reservation. All of it is filed before load day.

Access where you are going

A third-floor walk-up in Brooklyn, an HOA in Austin, a townhouse with a narrow stair in Chicago: tell us at quote time. Stairs, elevators, and long carries at the destination are priced into the flat rate, and a street a full-size truck cannot reach is planned for with a shuttle.

Booking in peak season

June through August is the busiest stretch for cross-country moves out of LA, and month-end dates go first. Book two to four weeks ahead in summer, and if you are flexible, mid-month dates are easier to get.

The paperwork that crosses state lines

Interstate moves run under our USDOT and MC authority (USDOT 3689417, MC 1778661), with a written binding estimate and an inventory signed at pickup and delivery. Valuation coverage options are explained before you book, not after something is in a box.

Straight Delivery or the Flex Option?

Both are flat-rate, padded and wrapped, licensed and insured. The difference is the truck and the calendar.

What this move costs

Cross-country moves from Los Angeles County are quoted flat-rate — one binding number for the crew, the truck, the miles, and the delivery. Most long-distance moves land between $2,500 and $10,000+, with coast-to-coast runs toward the upper part of that range; the distance band and the volume do most of the work, and the delivery option moves the number more than anything else you choose.

$2,500 – $10,000+
typical flat-rate range for long-distance moves · exact number in minutes with a video walkthrough

What moves the number:

  • Distance band — Texas and the Mountain West price differently from the Midwest or the East Coast
  • Volume — the inventory from your video walkthrough sets the truck space you are paying for
  • Delivery option — Straight Delivery on a dedicated truck versus the consolidated Flex Option
  • Access at both ends — stairs, elevators, long carries, and streets a full-size truck cannot reach
  • Packing — full-service packing protects a long haul; you can also pack yourself and we load
  • Season — summer and month-end are peak for cross-country moves and book first

I am so happy I went with 4US Moving! I moved from LA County out to the Palm Desert. Dau and his teammate were courteous, speedy, and professional. The amount of care they took prepping before loading my furniture and TVs surprised me. And they didn’t hesitate to go the extra mile when they unloaded into my new place. I highly recommend.

I needed movers from Orange County to San Diego and 4US Moving were fast to respond and had the best rates. Before booking, they answered all my questions to ensure I had everything I needed for my move. They were super fast and efficient, especially considering I moved out of a 3-story home. They took care of my items and wrapped/unwrapped everything for me. They’re also really prepared - had door stoppers and various packing supplies for a speedy move. They made moving less stressful and I definitely recommend them!

I scheduled 3 movers with a truck to move out my house from long beach to north hollywood and the guys. I called them and Dennis picked the phone, we went straight to business figuring out my move and he is such a cool guy actually! I appreciate his patience with me because I had a piano and a designer furniture piece that is really heavy even for 3 movers, but the guys did a great job handling it upstairs for me, Roman, the leader of my crew is the man! Glad I chose the right company, even though their quote was higher than other local movers but I got Dennis on the call and he explained to me the whole pricing structure as to why their quote appears higher while in reality it is because it's an all inclusive quote basically from the start and they include all packing supplies actually which I loved about this experience!

I moved from South Orange County to Los Angeles and needed help moving due to busy life schedule. This company provided exceptional service. It was easy to work with their team and they were efficient with their time. The rate was good in my opinion for the type of service you get. They ensured that all items were packed with care for transit. I would definitely recommend.
